About the Ranch
Located east of North Platte in the Nebraska Sandhills, Pawnee Springs Ranch encompasses nearly 40,000 acres of native rangeland in the heart of Lincoln County. Established in 1918, the ranch takes its name from the natural springs that once sustained early settlement in the area, honoring both the land’s history and those who depended on it long before modern ranching.

Today, Pawnee Springs supports approximately 850 mother cows within a diverse landscape shaped by native Sandhills grasslands, fertile river bottoms, and the long-term agricultural reliability of the Ogallala Aquifer. Our operation focuses on responsible, full-cycle cattle production — raising calves from birth through weaning, returning them to grass as yearlings, and managing irrigated acres that support both livestock performance and land health.

The ranch balances productive agriculture with wildlife habitat, water resources, and native range management to ensure the land remains healthy and resilient for future generations. At Pawnee Springs, we believe strong ranching traditions and thoughtful innovation can and should coexist.
Ownership & Leadership
P. Ryan Langston, CEO
Pawnee Springs Ranch is led by Ryan Langston, where under his leadership, the ranch will continue its core cattle production while maintaining and enhancing the fertile irrigated acres and native range land that defined the ranch's character.
Mark and Robyn Jones
Pawnee Springs Ranch was acquired by Mark and Robyn Jones, founders of Goosehead Insurance, in 2026. The same principles that guided the creation of Goosehead inform their approach to land ownership - patience, continuity and respect for the people and land involved. In addition to Pawnee Springs, the Joneses own and steward the Flathead Ridge Ranch in Montana. For the Jones family, ranch ownership is rooted in a long-term perspective rather than a short-term investment. Their acquisition of the Pawnee Springs Ranch builds upon their broader appreciation for the American landscape and reflects a commitment to land use that supports both productive agriculture and ecological health.
The Pawnee Springs Ranch is part of a broader, long-term commitment to agricultural land ownership across the American West and Plains. The Joneses are actively pursuing additional ranch opportunities where values, stewardship and operational excellence align.
